For The Birds of Acadiana is a state and federally permitted avian rehabilitation facility situated in the heart of Lafayette, Louisiana. We proudly operate as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
At For The Birds, our primary objective is to educate and foster a deep sense of responsibility towards the preservation and conservation of federally protected birds. We achieve this by dedicating our efforts to the rehabilitation and subsequent release of these magnificent creatures.
By providing a nurturing environment and expert care, we strive to ensure the well-being and eventual return to the wild of the birds in our care. Through our work, we aim to raise awareness and inspire others to join us in safeguarding these precious avian species.

In Louisiana it is against the law to possess and rehabilitate injured/orphaned birds without LDWF/USFWS Migratory Bird Rehabilitation Permits - Even if you plan to release them.
